A Brief History
Pearland Diagnostic Clinic, PA is the corporate name I gave to my medical practice established under the laws of incorporation of the state of Texas in 1993. It is a single person corporation with myself, Joseph H. Roosth, MD serving as all officers. A Tax ID number was then obtained from the United States Treasury. I obtained a Medicare license shortly thereafter and doors opened at 2206 East Broadway in September 1993. In 1998 I moved to 3322 East Walnut. I have enjoyed the larger office, but now it is time to downsize and become more efficient. In June 2012 I moved my office to its current location at 1834 Broadway, Suite 102, Pearland, Tx 77581

About the Office
Internal Medicine is all about adult medical care and that is all I do in the office. You name it and I do it and if I don't do it, I'll tell you. If you want me to do brain surgery I'm afraid I'm going to have to refer you elsewhere, although I can change a battery in a pick up truck.
Seriously we do all the following:
Vaccinations
Blood Drawing
Electrocardiograms
ANS Autonomic Nervous System tests
Breathing Treatments
Physical Examinations
Health Checks
Insurance Examinations
Ear Wax Removal
An Internist is fundamentally both a Diagnostician and a Preventative Medicine person. So I treat amongst other things:
High Blood Pressure
Diabetes Mellitus
Headaches
Back Pain
COPD
Asthma
Coronary Artery Disease
Atrial Fibrillation
Stroke
GERD
Chest Pain
Abdominal Pain
Itching
Rashs
And I'll be happy to take a look at anything
If I cannnot help you, I'll do my best to find the doctor who can and work with you at every step of the process inbetween.
A Brief Biography of Dr. Roosth
Joseph Howard Roosth, MD was born May 10, 1960 at Mother Frances Hospital. He is the third and youngest son of Dr. and Mrs. Wiley Roosth of Tyler, Texas. Dr. Roosth graduated from High School in 1978 from Robert E. Lee in Tyler, a member of the National Honor Society. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Chemistry from Austin College in Sherman, Texas in 1982. He graduated from The Urniversity of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston with an MD degree in 1986.
Dr. Roosth completed his Internship in Internal Medicine at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas in 1988 and Residency in Internal Medicine at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas in 1990.
He then worked for a variety of employers, obtaining his board certification in Internal Medicine in 1992, then decided to hang out his own shingle.
Dr. Roosth became certified in Palliative Medicine in 2005 by the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine and again in 2008 by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
I divide my professional time between my office, caring for patients in the hospital and serving as a hospice medical director.
Dr. Roosth serves as a Major in the Texas State Guard's Houston Medical Response Group.
My preferred form of exercise is walking. For fun I like to study medicine, with my goal for 2013 being to memorize every word of the MKSAP 16 and know it better than the folks who write it. I am also studying Haftorah Yonah, the longest one in the Pentateuch and done on the afternoon of Yom Kippur.
Oh Yeah, as a Colon Cancer Survivor, I tend to get a bit overbearing when I encourage you to have a colonoscopy.
